With the power off, turn the computer over. In the middle, you should see a recessed hole. There should be a screw there. If not, then you've got a few problems. This screw hold down the keyboard which keeps several things in place: touch pad, hard drive, just to name a few. Its possible the hard drive connector to the motherboard has become disconnected thus not booting correct, but you should still see the BIOS stuff come up.

You may also have a problem with the computer not seeing your RAM. Try removing the RAM module and cleaning the contacts with a pencil eraser.
