I bought my Vibrant LS late April last year (just barely
out of warranty) and I am running into some trouble now.

When I first booted up without AC plug in, it shut itself
off after window started up. Subsequent boot did not
even go to the window screen before it shut off again.
It did boot with AC power though.

Once it started up and ran on AC for a while, I disconnected
AC just for testing. The battery started to run down, when
it reached 96% (< 5min), the machine shut itself down again.

As I mentioned, my notebook is barely out of warranty and
it looks like I might be stuck. I guess it could still
make a "desktop replacement" with AC permanently plugged
in, but I will be needing a new notebook soon (only last
a little more than 1 year) :-(

Do I have a bad notebook, bad battery, or both. Any advice
will be greatly appreciated.

I also read here, but not in great detail, that
ASE does not provide service for transmonde owner anymore,
has anybody been successful dealing with them?
