Three creatures came in each one carrying some sort of scanning device. He opened his eyes slightly. The creatures noticed. They became tense. One of them gave a screech and injected something into Tom. Everything went fuzzy, after a few moments, it subsided. He then heard one of the creatures speak to him. "Mr. Paris. I see you have finally come around. I suppose you are wondering where you are. I can't tell you that but I can tell you this, you are a 'guinea pig' as you humans call it..

A small beep alerted Harry at his ops station. Janeway who was unusually tense even for her picked up on it too. She turned to Harry 'Mr Kim?' she enquired. 'I'm not sure captain' Harry responded he continued unsure 'I'm picking up some strange energy readings..i can't be sure but i would say some kind of transporter signal.' Janeway was instantly more alert she jumped to her feet 'Red alert, shield up. We may have an intruder onboard. Mr Kim soure of the energy readings?' 'I can't be sure captain there hard to isolate the best i can say is somewhere on deck two.' Harry replied A security team headed by Tuvok were instantly dispatched to the location.

Tuvok arrived at the location and reported back to Janeway. 'Captain we are picking up residual energy traces, I would suggest that they indicate someone had either beamed on or off the ship'...

Janeway notified the crew of a possible intruder. Hand phasers were issued again and the crew was checked. Everyone was accounted for. Even Tom. Security teams scoured every deck, section by section.

On the bridge, Kim was getting even more energy readings, more transports. It was another invasion! The crew barricaded themselves into strategic positions this time, they had to quickly equip themselves with plasma torches and had to use the butt ends of the compression rifles. It was a new verion of torches and pitchforks..

Wonderful, Chakotay thought, we're using torches and pitchforks against the bug-creatures. He shifted into a more comfortable position to await the inevitable attack. Pounding was heard again on the door.

Janeway tensed, and held her breath. She readied herself to attack the bug-like beings and waited. There was silence. Complete and utter silence.Everyone was confused.

What's happening out there? she thought, and exhaled. She began breathing regularly, and her commbadge beeped. A voice began to speak...
