Ya know I agree with all your opinions about switching servers. But lets think about it this way. When I first started, everything was a learning process and I'm sure things were like that for all of you. However there were players that had beta tested for a whole year and many of them were on that server. There is definitely an unfair advantage for them in that sense. They knew where to hunt and when and as a result quickly leveled ahead of everyone. I eventually caught up quick after adventuring alot and I'm planning to use my knowledge to that advantage. I did not switch servers to avoid the crowd because I know it will pack up soon. However, the main reason I switched was to get ahead of the game because I know there will be alot of newbies like me back in the day. The secret to leveling ahead fast and getting what you want is to have a tight group or guild. That is EXACTLY what I have now. I have 7 people and we form the perfect group; paladin, 2 cleric, wizard, enchanter, bard, and a druid. Right now we are outleveling EVERYONE except for the occasional soloers. We are basically the first group to get alot of things like the mino axes and shiny brass shield. Everyone is lvl 10 and 11 already while most people are 3 levels or lower. That is the secret fellas and if you think about the rate we're moving at, you are really not throwing away everything you worked for on the old server. I'm happy as can be and we plan on being the first ones one the server to get last names. Basically we're like the Mills, Stalkin, Yukitaro of this new server. Think about it.
