Date Posted: 12:55:40 09/04/02 Wed I'm going to open up the board to those that would like to voice their opinions and/or feelings regarding 9/11/01 as we approach the anniversary of this event. I've always meant this board to be more than just for the reunion, and as we'll hear from politicians, celebrities, etc. for the next week on their feelings, I wanted us to have a voice. Even if it's to each other. I was getting my truck worked on that morning and listening to the events unfold on the radio; at first, I thought it was a promo for a movie or something. I was instantly infuriated at the events unfolding. By the time I got to work, I was able to watch what had happened. Shortly thereafter, the towers collapsed. The most prominent feeling I've had regarding that day is pure rage at those responsible. I have attained a more heightened sense of pride, respect and admiration for our "heroes" (firefighters, police officers and everyday people that put others before themselves). While I know it'll be a long (political) battle to put an end to these types of terrorist actions, I only hope I'm still alive to see it through. I also have renewed pride in our military; also very proud of myself, family and friends who have served to keep this country safe. It's still painful to watch scenes from that morning and I know it'll be even more so to relive it next Wednesday...but, I'll watch because I never want to forget. This country should never forget what happened and should never forget the 3,044 innocent people that died that day. I lost two friends at the Pentagon that morning that were there because they had "won" a tour from their squadron. They will always be in my heart.
