While Hugh was teaching his conservative kids to laugh at fat people, we were teaching our atheist liberal kid to say "Mr." and "Ms." until the affected party has logged at least a month's insistance that he or she be called by his/her first name.

We have yet to teach him to brush his teeth for over 4.8 seconds without threats, or to be dressed by 7:30 after being awakened at 7:00 without threats. Yesterday he missed breakfast and I felt alternately proud/guilty all day about standing my ground, until I learned he'd conned his teacher into letting him step out for a bite after the bell rang.
