I'm sure by now you folks have seen or heard of those 4 outsourced security folks (or whatever corporatese title they were given) being shot, burned, and strung up in a scenario stright out of a Good Ol' Boys lynch mob of the Jim Crow era...

So... These Fallujites miss being tortured by Saddam? Is that the case?

And then you have al-Sadr coasting on his family's name to do some shit-disturbing on his own, blissfully unaware of the fact that under Saddam's regime he'd be dancing on the end of a rope for doing what he is doing now.

Sigh.

And then we have President Glorious Leader (I've started calling W that to spoof the right-wingers of this country that view him with the same unblinking adoration that the average North Korean has for Kim Jung Il) saying that this is a good sign, that mayhem is a sign of progress.

It seems like Bush is Candide and Cheney, Wolfowitz, et al. are like Dr. Pangloss saying "we are in the best of all possible worlds" no matter how high the tide of shit becomes.

But then again, these folks are probably interpreting increasing mayhem as a sign that rapture will happen any minute. Throw in a red calf, and let the fun begin.

While the weekly toll isn't as high as was in Vietnam (yet), I still have yet to see showers of flower petals either.
