Subject: Ah! So that explains why I'm surrounded by intelligent people who also happen to be atheists in this university :)

But it also quite interesting however to see the number of religions and beliefs as well as those on the fringe that appear on and around campus.

The little clique of Christians are amazing - they believe themselves better than anyone else and hold regular prayer meetings etc - someone I know signed up at the societies fair at the beginning of term and was hounded for the rest of the year by members to try and make her attend their churches and meetings.

African churches based in Nigeria that no-one has ever heard of and claim that their church's founder received a message from God are giving out leaflets; Hare Krsna are apparently raising money for homeless (gotta love those little pigtails!); the FWBO (Friends of the Western Buddhist Order, a group which has been questioned over its actual Buddhist-ness, as well as sexual abuse of its members).

And the Islamists - gotta love the Islamists! Set a Christian against an Islamist in my town and you'll have a wonderful show.

My book is better than your book!

I'm still trying to remember where I read the story of someone who, as a Christian said (as an insult) to an atheist - "All you intelligent people don't beleive in God!" Hmmm, so by extension of logic, what does that make the Christian here?
