Really? Are you really THAT OLD AND STILL HIP? If your answer is "yes", that's kinda neat.

I'm not sure why I'm so curious, except I just lost a friend down the street who was older, very patriotic, and kinda gruff. You know, stern. No, actually, he was downright pithy. Lots of people were afraid of him and stayed away. I found out, after a few years of walking my dog, jogging by, or just plain "being summoned by him" to stop whatever I was doing and answer his questions, that he was a genuine, nice, caring, person who accepted me for myself. He never tried to offer suggestions about changing me. Oh, he'd tell me how he trained his dog (pointing out the flaws in the dog's behavior) but he accepted Boo (my rediculously big, sweet, goofy dog) and seemed to love him a lot.

So, where do you figure in with this slight character description? Are you like that? Or, are you just a crotchity old fart with little or no regard for the idea we're all different but connected? Or, could you be both? If so, you might qualify to be in my husband's club!!!!! He's younger than you, but sometimes I wonder about him.....
