Subject: I just watched Each of Us Angels. It was nice. The only part that ruined it for me was the kiss. Mind you I am a shipper well a long term goal shipper eventually but not now. CB and DJE act really well together share all the right looks etc etc but when it comes to the clinch it's well at least needs practice the best kiss was in Answered Prayers. Overall I liked the episode.

he he me and my typing like I'm tihnking what leave it to me to run two sentences together that should be two, sorry to all you english majors out there. (NT) -- Elle, 23:50:52 02/06/03 Thu

Its not an impressive 10 for a Jag ep. but a special tribute for our veterans and nurses is what made the ep. respectful and a winner. The onscreen chemistry of CB and DJE ...what can i say except they're absolutely picture perfect. The kiss was passionate and sustained the 40's mood but sadly the plane killed that momentum.....reminds me of the leg/snuggle on In Country ep.when the bombs came.ARGH! (NT) -- Paris, 00:11:30 02/07/03 Fri

Let's see - emotions are running high - your unsure if you should get involved with one another - your out in the open on a Hospital Ship Deck with hundreds of eyes watching you - hmmmmmmm the first kiss just might be rushed!!! LOLOL Then the explosion and you don't get another chance! (At least this was what I thought the director/actors were portraying. (NT) -- CindyB(Kissing discussions - do you like it short, long, soft, hard, slow, hot - the choices are endless), 00:12:56 02/07/03 Fri

Im this AMC classic junkie so I explained to my daughter the difference of 21st century kissing because the one in EOUA was so Betty Davis,Colbert,Crawford kissy style especially with the head swaying back & forth.(LOL),plus it was SO QUICK.sheesh! But bravo to Harm and Mac that they're still not slammed but heralded by critics on their kissing and chemistry,Im hurt they called my Xfiles Momuld and Sculky and The Guardian's Simon Baker wooden with Lulu.Hmph! (NT) -- Gretchen, 00:45:35 02/07/03 Fri

Gretchen I was going to say the same thing. Someone did a study on the evolution of the kiss in the movies, I believe. I think the kiss was romantic and very much the type of kiss that went with the WWII setting and sensibilities. I like the modern kiss, though the tonsil sucking and spitty tongues are a bit much. Some younger actors just love the wide open mouth that suck the face off. And life imitates art in these things. More observations INSIDE. -- Cece, 11:59:32 02/07/03 Fri

Very interesting post, Cece! ITA that it was in accordance with the era! And it's not the "kisses" that have changed. Even the "acting" did, I mean, the looks the facial expressions ... they were a lot more "theatrical" and a bit exaggerated. Nowadays, that "style" would probably be considered "bad" acting, if you understand what I mean. (NT) -- Lucia, 12:36:24 02/07/03 Fri

You know- I just love this kiss- regardless of the era or the kissing style... I mean he swoops her up in those big, strong arms and then crushes her mouth with his--- I think it portrayed passion and yearning and had a desperate 'grab this moment cause it may be all we get'-quality that shivers my timbers and emptys my quiver every time I watch it. I do suspect that DPB was flying that plane that was heading toward them though....LOL (NT) -- manette-- did I mention those big, strong arms???, 12:15:33 02/07/03 Fri

GLA !!! ...for the theory of DP flying that plane!!
LOLOLOLOLOL (NT) -- Lucia ... waving "Hi" to manette !!, 12:27:24 02/07/03 Fri
I second that GLA! ROTFLOL! Sounds like DPB, doesn't it? (NT) -- Dancer, 12:59:37 02/07/03 Fri

ROTFLMAO !!!! but it did crash and burn ...didn't it???...( hoping kip was on that plane too....) (NT) -- Abby Normal.....(why or why can't harm play dr. with mac???......what a waste..), 22:43:18 02/07/03 Fri

Ron or Harm could grab me, swirl me with a passionate kiss anytime! I like the old fashioned passion! Cece, you are too funny, spitty tongues, gross! Yes, kisses have changed but I do like passionate, not slobbery kisses! One of my daughters was an exchange student for France and while partying the French boys were bragging how they invented the french kiss and my daughter, living dangerously replied, yes but Americans perfected it! LOL Yes, she came home alive! Good thing her french friends had a sense of humor! (NT) -- Mag, 12:36:10 02/07/03 Fri

I dont understand what the fuss was about as far as the kiss was concerned. I only watched ep once(dang tape)...but wasnt the sun at an angle where you couldnt see their lips anyway? How can you critisize/analize a kiss if you cant see it? By the way...we got our obligatory'Sturgis interuptus' moment in the storeroom. Did we not? LOL (NT) -- Trish, 13:07:27 02/07/03 Fri

Well Trish we can analise/criticize because it's there..lol. Actally, a kiss doesn't just involve the lips. It's the whole thing from intense look, to pre-kiss breathing, to body movements, to post-kiss gasping....lol. We take it where we find it. (NT) -- Cece, 15:09:23 02/07/03 Fri

Especially these days! LOL! Does anyone else think that "Beverly" was standing on a box for that kiss? I mean, how did she get her arms clear around his shoulders without him having to bend down? Poor DJE! Between "Bev" on the set and Nanci at home, he may have forgotten what it's like to kiss a woman he didn't have to side-step. LOL! (NT) -- Dancer, 15:29:02 02/07/03 Fri

I'll take a look at the scene on my tape in a moment, but I just hopped over to TRG and checked out the caps... in one of them, it almost looks like he's lifted her up a little. Maybe that's how she got her arms around his neck. The box is a good guess, though. (NT) -- DJEgirl... I wouldn't say "Poor DJE"- he's probably gotten used to it, because of his height., 17:10:49 02/07/03 Fri

Being very experienced in the tall guy/short gal kind of thing, tippytoes work well. Also, guy bending knees just a little. LOL! In younger and less gravitationally challenged days, the 'pick-up' worked too. (CM 5'4"ish, CatDad 6'3"ish) (NT) -- CM>^.,.^<, 03:17:42 02/08/03 Sat

I know what you mean about the sun, Trish! I tried watching it with my sunglasses on but it didn't help. And at the end of the kiss they have their backs to the camera-- A lip or two may have parted unbeknownst to us. LOL- about Sturgis interupptus (NT) -- manette- waving hello to everyone!!, 16:20:39 02/07/03 Fri

I thought the kiss was perfect...!!! very 40's- ish...a desperate grab in desperate times...a big crushing kiss ..it was perfect.... (NT) -- Abby Normal...., 22:49:07 02/07/03 Fri

Wow, now Abby is the voice of reason! (NT) -- Shell, 23:59:32 02/07/03 Fri

I agree with Abby and others who say that the kiss was passionate, desperate, etc. There has been some criticism of the actors on some other lists regarding the kiss and it's nice to read another opinion too. Yeah, there was alittle too much head movement for my taste, but others have pointed out that this is very much in keeping with the 40's style of kissing. I enjoyed the episode, but will be happy to get back to "regular JAG" eps next week. (NT) -- ShirJo, ROFLOLOL at Manette changing her name to "his gavel" !!! Oh, to be that clever!, 02:04:17 02/08/03 Sat
