I was re-watching “Offensive Action” with my cousin and he brought up a very interesting perspective on Harm’s Farrow comment that none of us on the Harmy board took in to consideration.

Well first off—“The Truth is rarely pure and never simple”—Oscar Wilde. The quote is from the “The Importance of Being Earnest”

THUD! Goes to prove that Harm is incredibly well read!

Anyway my Cousin brought up a very interesting point about that comment. He tended to agree with someone who brought up the point Harm was knocking Mac off the soap box but he honestly thought Harm had a reason for doing it. He actually compared Harm’s comment to his girlfriend kicking his shin under the table when she wants him to shut up because he’s letting his mouth over run his a**.

When I asked him why he thought about the comment that way he brought up this:

Harm knows AJ is looking at Mac for a judgeship. Can’t tell Mac that but Harm’s aware of the fact.

Harm could have guessed that this case might have been a test if Mac could stay impartial. Remember Harm even made a comment last season about how Mac ‘over compensates’ when ever there’s a female defendant.

So my cousin argued that Harm making that Farrow comment to Mac was comparable to your wife kicking your shin under the table to shut you up when you’re eating dinner with your boss. Your wife knows through the grapevine you’re up for that big promotion and she’s trying to shut you up before you blow it for yourself by running your mouth off.

So he actually argued Harm wasn’t trying to be mean when he threw that comment out. That was the male equivalent of a kick under the table. He argued we’ve seen Harm take the gloves off in other situations and honestly that comment was NOT Harm being mean. We’ve seen Harm play mean in the past and Harm plays MEAN when he goes for the jugular. Harm can be pretty vicious when he really wants to be. He wouldn’t have started off with Oscar Wilde if he was trying to be mean to Mac. Harm was just knocking Mac back to Earth a little and knocking her off her soap box FAST before she blew the shot at a judgeship for himself.

IHHO it was VERY hypocritical for Mac to even step up on that soap box the first place considering her past relationship with her CO. Not to mention for her to beat the feminist drum about ‘hard’ it is for woman to climb to the top of the career latter and how they need to be ‘role models’. Mac has NEVER had any problem using men in a position of power to further her career. There’s her affair with her CO and later with Dalton. Did Mac go out and apply to another law firm when she left JAG so she could work her way up career latter the hard way? No, she used her relationship with Dalton to try to step in to a great job with his law firm. Mac really shouldn’t have pulled that particular soap box out in the first place and she really didn’t have any business stepping up on it.

So my cousin argued it was a VERY good thing Harm cared enough to knock Mac off the soap box before someone else did.

I thought it was a very interesting male perspective and argument.
