Subject: Well, *I* liked it ........
In reply to: - 's message, "season eight: When the Bough Breaks, November 19, 2002" on 00:53:14 11/23/02 Sat

Perhaps I liked it so much because I really don't watch JAG for any one thing in particular (except for good-looking men in uniform and since that's always a given ..... LOL) and am just pleased when the ep is well-written, well-acted, keeps me interested in what's going to happen next and like that.

At first I thought (and hoped) that Singer *would* go through with having the abortion ...... it is certainly a real-life scenario and would have dramatic implications back at JAG HQ with Harm (probably ... although SINGER never said the father was Sergei) being related and Harriet & Bud losing their daughter at birth .....

But I was reminded that NC's pregnancy is now being written in and so we'll most probably see Singer see it through.

I thought Harm was terrific in this ep. The "Harm" I can like and admire (for more than his gorgeous physique!) ... I mean --- maybe he'll get to forgo the duct tape in our next encounter! LOL!

Seriously --- I thought it made perfect sense that he NOT involve Mac in his inquiries into who the father was. First of all, Mac was trying to see IF Singer conceived onboard ... if not, then SHE (and the Navy) have no interest (or business) knowing who it is until and unless Singer wants to share. Second, Harm was NOT part of the official investigation into Singer's possible "conduct unbecoming" .... for him it was a personal potential FAMILY matter and it was clear to him that Singer did NOT want ANYONE to know and if he brought Mac into it, it would HAVE to BE official since Mac WAS looking into it officially so he did the right thing and kept his thoughts (and investigation) to himself.

I also really liked how he handled the mishap investigation. Typical Singer --- just run roughshod over all & sundry and throw the book at everyone within range. Yes -- we've seen a similar conclusion to a mishap investiagtion before .... but Harm was particularly goodve in this one.

Anyway --- I thought it was a good, solid ep. As to who's on the screen more than who else and all that -- I don't really care all that much. Is it a good story that keeps my attention and has a few dramatic moments, a little suspense, good acting, a few comic touches, and like that? If yes, then I'm relatively satisfied.

One thing --- about Meredith ..... I agree that she was not her usual over-the-top screwwball self .... but still ...... she goes and runs over AJ's rather timid objections and forges ahead. It bugged me (as did having to carry around half a dozen book with Shakespeare's plays in them .... excuse me -- but I have a volume with ALL his plays in it ..... ONE [rather large] book. WHy doesn't Meredith have one? LOL!].

It also bugs me that AJ doesn't just get FIRM (ha ha) with her. As I've said before --- the woman must be DAMN talented in ONE area to make him change his tell-it-like-it-is usual modus operandi! Sure -- maybe after the debacle with MOMULD he's decided to be more laid-(haha)-back or something .... but it's grating on me that he just didn't say "Meredith, darlin' -- leave Bud the hell alone!"

LOL!
