I'd say you need to get a different group of e-mail buddies! You're preaching to the choir here. I certainly think it would have been terribly wrong of him TO tell Mac anything since HE was acting as Sergei's brother .. with a FAMILY interest .. and Mac was on an official investigation. Just because Harm & Mac are the closest of friends and trust each other with their lives doesn't mean that they just HAVE to spill their guits about everything to each other all the time. Singer didn't want to tell .... and Harm respected that ....... and *I* respect HIM for respecting HER! So there! LOL! When I don't like an ep for shipper reasons, it usually takes me a while to figure out why, exactly. It's usually somewhat subliminal. Bottom line, Harm was WAY to nice to Singer. Harm detests Singer, probably more than any of the other characters. That was what bothered me so much...frankly, Harmon Rabb being nice to Lt. Lee, great thread and you're right on the mark about Harm not confiding in Mac. In fact, we still don't know for sure and of course Singer could be lying about when the baby was conceived. But I love your idea of Bud and Harriet adopting the baby. That actually makes a lot of sense. But Lee, you said in your post that some woman said that Harm will never 'go' up? You make some wonderful points, Lee (as usual). Mac WAS the investigating officer. The whole point was to prove it WASN'T a sailor on the Seahawk. One thing I think people are forgetting -- Harm said, "I haven't been able to get through to my brother in Russia. I suspect you're having the same trouble." Excellent point Dancer about Harm "keeping it in the family" so to speak. Also, I had another thought about Harm's little investigation "on the side" - When he first called Manetti, he said it was "personal". That means he was going to find out for himself BECAUSE he suspected Sergei right away. I know that's probably redundant, but it stood out to me after the second time I watched it.
