Date Posted: 19:55:57 06/17/02 Mon *He tacks up his stallion and mounts swiftly. then he presses his calves into the horse's sides and asks for a walk. the horse responds and moves into an eager walk, round and on the bit. Mikki sponges his hands and gets the horse even rounder, then does a half circle to change direction and continues sponging his fingers. the chocolate colored stallion stays perfectly on the bit and walks foward eagerly. Mikki sits deeper and asks for a trot and sits lightly to the horses long, gentle, flowing gaits. he does a 20 meter circle at C and another one at A before changing direction F-X-H. then he does 20 meter circles in the same places again before sliding his outside leg back and cueing the horse for a canter. HC springs into a canter with a quick buck, but Mikki bumps him with both legs and pushes him back onto the bit again. HC comes back down and canters steadily foward. Mikki slows him to a walk and gives him his head to stretch his neck and back a little and strokes his neck gently before changing direction again and pushing him into a canter on the other lead. this time the transition is light and smooth and HC remains on the bit the whole time. Mikki canters two 20-meter circles at B, then asks HC to trot a circle and then walk. after a 10-meter circle at a collected walk, he does a 15-meter circle at a working walk and then a 20-meter circle at an extended walk and walks a full lap around the dressage ring in a free walk before cooling the horse out completely and hosing the dirt and sweat off of his horse.
