Date Posted: 19:58:53 06/17/02 Mon *She calls to the bay pony, who is grazing in the paddock. the pony swishes her tail and turns the other way. Jessie sighs and walks out to the paddock and catches the pony. then she leads her to the barn, grooms her and lounges her. the spirited horse bucks and shies on the lounge line, but the determined 9 year old girl controls the pony easily, making her walk, trot and canter 20 meter circles around her. the pony's gait are even and flowing, and she easily makes the circles, moving nicely. then Jessie takes off the lounging equipment and tacks her up to ride. She puts her foot in the stirrup and mounts. Rose shies as she settles in the saddle, but Jessie moves easily with the pony and corrects the shy, before pushing her into a trot, not giving the pony a chance to misbehave. finally, Rose settles down onto the bit and behaves perfectly at a trot, so Jessie slides her leg back and asks the mare for a canter. Rose springs into a canter, doing flying changes down the long side and bucking playfully. Jessie pulls the pony's head up and makes her canter nicely, then changes direction and repeats the procedure before walking the pony off. Saddle comes out to hold her while Jessie hoses the dancing mare and sighs unhappily as Jessie misses the pony and sprays Saddle with the hose.
