Date Posted: 19:58:02 06/17/02 Mon *She slides the saddle into place, tightens the girth and bridles her arabian gelding, Heaven Calling. then she tugs on the reins and leads her pony to the jumping ring were a 3'3 course is set up. she mounts and works on a 20 meter circle to warm him up before jumping the 3'3" course. she slides her hands up on his neck easily as he bounds over the 1st fence, a 3' coop. then she turns him to the right and canters a 3'3 fake stone wall and does a 2'9" bounce 6 strides later. As the pair lands from the bounce, she turns her head to look over the 3' tall, 2' wide oxer and gives the horse a kick to encourage him to jump it properly. Heaven springs off the ground in perfect form and easily clears the oxer. Next, she head over the combination, the first jump set at 2'9, the next set at 3' and the final fence set at 3'3. she concentrates on the pattern: squeeze, jump, stride, squeeze, jump, stride, squeeze, jump, and then canters off, headed to the final fence, a 3'3 brush fence. she gives Heaven encouragement with her legs and seat as she canters up to the fence, then allows him to move her hands foward as he springs over the fence, tucking his grey legs and clearing the jump perfectly. Hannah makes a final circle and then slows the excited arabian to a walk. he throws his head in protest but then slows into a prancing walk. she takes him on a short trail ride to cool him off, then hoses him down.* [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
