Aye, I agree with that...

Gameplay design is already done? Wow, you guys are fast... heheheh

>and will be the source of the concept of the game,

Just a suggestion here from experience... If you don't let those building the actual pieces of the game in on conception, you'll have either A) dissention, or B) misunderstandings. And trust me, you don't want yer programmer to misunderstand you... Its not pretty...

>and eventually almalgam all of the other groups, as well as keep things in order.

I like yer idea... However, I believe it best to make yer other groups from those who were in on the conception... If that's what you meant, then it'd work...

Aye, but if you find me a programmer without a super ego that won't get pissy when told to do something, at least without being paid for this something, then a group just to lead and make things up will not work. The only way it would work is if the person telling the others what to do was also working, and must be working in the visible sense that the others can see the leader's work. That's the key element behind my idea. The leaders actually do the bulk of the work. Your group that I believe you want to have leading everyone else is the Research group, which should for the most part call meetings and give out information and tasks. In my group they hold a good deal of the sway, as they're the ones telling the graphics folk and programmers and such the ideals behind the game. They're there to keep everything organized and running smoothly, but can be challenged a little easier than if they were thought of as the "leaders"...
I know it sounds kinda stupid, but after I was in a group with three "leaders" who never talked to one another and told me different things and pretty much brandished that because they were on the project before I was (they were aboard for a week longer than I, but hadn't actually contributed anything other than the occasional comment on what they would like in a game), they were more important than the guy designing the avatars...

I like this idea, but I don't think it should be done by races... I think it should be done by the broad tasks... The races should be assigned specifically to a Researcher, who would then advise anyone who needed to know what the collective (lower your shields and surrender your weapons... errr, sorry... heheh) group wants out of the race.

I kinda also wouldn't mind knowing who else is on this other than Jona and Drackyn... heh
