An intangible sigh lifted from the lithe frame as she adjusted herself on the fence once again, peering out over the field that seemed to roll on forever, before meeting and dropping abrubtly with rocks that crashed below to the waves. A sleek bay mare, along with a tottering foal at her side, trotted around, ceasing their movements every so often to reach down and have at the lush grass; they were definently feeling at home today. Less could be said about the female, seemingly so alone and forlorn ontop of the sprawling fence line, her eyes misting over as she zoned out; thoughts plagued her mind like a fog and she pushed them away, hopping down. The semi-frozen grass crunched beneath her worn boots as she reached for the latch on the gate, an exclamation of annoyance drawing the two equine's attention as it refused to waver and open. They wandered over to investigate, ears pricked atop their smooth polls, eyes wide and filled with curiosity.

"Oh, shoo, you two. It's not time to go in." she said, waving them away as she slipped through the gate.

Raleen, the mare, crowded the fence and offered her nose to be patted, staring expectantly at her pocket. She girl relented and slipped her the carrot piece, chuckling slightly as her foal stuffed his neck through the fence and peered up at her.

"Later, Taz."

With that, she started the long, laborious trip up the hill, the pathway that led to the barn twisting between sprawling oaks and slim eucaleptus, the shade they provided keeping the dirt cool and damp for days on end. Yes, this place was pretty...but it didn't compare to the Desert.
