Well, the desert was long gone, and this was her new home. She might as well get used to it. Blinking at the barn that seemed to emerge so quickly in front of her, she slipped inside, sliding it shut behind her. It seemed empty and she called up and down the stalls, looking for the manager, a groom -- someone.
"Can I help you?"
She turned and found herself eye to eye with a man. Jumping back, she scowled and eyed him, "I'm looking for the owner. I need to ask him if I can pay the board in advance, while I have the money."

"You plan on not having it later on?"

"You're very nosy, whoever you are." she quipped, crossing her arms, "May I ask who you are?"
