the new zero 7 cd is one of those stupid crappy "copy protected" cd's - it wouldn't play on my cd player or computer, so how am i supposed to get it on my ipod ???

anyway, the copy protection isn't actually sophisticated and i thought you might like to stick this on your website for other frustrated zero 7 fans:

- whack the cd in an mac running os x (this might work on windows but i haven't tested it)
- select finder and you'll see two new disks loaded - one labelled "Audio" and one labelled "when it falls"
- click the "when it falls" disk and you will see all the audio tracks listed
- copy these files one-by-one (if you try and do them all at once you will stall your mac) to your hard disk
- once you have all the files on your hard disk you can eject the cd
- then simply drag the files from your hard disk to itunes and itunes will do it's stuff
- if you haven't asked itunes to convert the tracks on import you are best to select the newly imported tracks and do "convert selection to AAC" otherwise you use up about 25 GB of your disk!

and there you have it - a usable copy of the "copy protected" cd that you can dump on to your ipod and use at will.
