Ashley,

I called but it appeared you are out there shooting out or having your family day. Anyway......

There are more than a few shops carrying the Linksys 802.11g (draft) wireless router access point (WRT54G) distributed by SiS International Ltd. C2 is selling it at HKD1,300.- slightly cheaper than the one I left in your voice mail. However when I ask C2's staff for whether they would carry the Access Point only option (WAP54G), I got an astonishing answer: "The price would be the same as the WRT54G if I place the order" Certainly I stormed out of the shop and telling the sales to go to hell.

Anyway, it might be cheaper to buy it in the States, I think as Linksys stuffs uses a universal auto-switching power supply. As far as I could recall last time I checked it's price on the web it (WAP54G) should be below HKD1,000.- if converted back to HKD. Sans the shipping, of course.

That's all for now.

Thomas

ps. do you folks still having soccer matches on Sunday afternoon these days?

Hi there,

Darn it. I just check some web shops and yet, both the router model and the AP alone cost around USD129.95

Best Regards,
Thomas

Hi there,

Other than Apple & Linksys, There is another brand of 802.11g stuffs in the market recently. I spotted the Buffalo Wireless Router in Wanchai Computer Centre. But this one is as expensive as one of the Apples ones at around HKD1,800.-

Best Regards,
Thomas

Maybe Ashley has not made himself very clear. What he meant was he needs some time now to get to know and play with his new toys before he will go out again for yet another big hunt. I would say give him 2 weeks.

Hi there,

I just realized Cisco bought Linksys on 20th March 2003. Linksys is now a devision of Cisco.

Would that mean a raise in their SRP? Let's hope not.

Best Regards,
Thomas
