How come a running back get gets credit for receiving touchdowns and running touchdowns, but quarterbacks only get credit for passing touchdowns? I think a few quarterbacks would be in the top 5 if both running and passing were included.

For the same reason that offensive linemen don't get credit for any touchdowns. Or anyone that blocks, for that matter, be they linemen or backs who make the holes or spring a runner for a TD or protect the passer so he can throw TD strikes. That's football.

That answer has no logic. A quarterback doesnt get credit for handing the ball off the same as an o-lineman doesnt get credit for a block. Does anyone have a real answer?

If it were in the rules or newspaper sports reporters wanted to publish such statistics, they could, but because QB's and linemen don't get "assists" for handing off the ball or throw a block for TD's, then the papers aren't going to waste space to print those statistics. Quarterback ratings take into consideration the total offense generated by a team when he's on the field, I believe. Also, you can bet that a player agent for a lineman would have at his fingertips the number of blocks his client made that sprung a RB for a TD. Understandable now?

A pass quite simply isn't a score. Only one person can score per touchdown. If passes were counted as scores, when you added each person's individual touchdowns on a team it would come out to more than the total number of touchdowns the team scored, as two people would have scored for every passing touchdown. It is a different and distinct statistic. Quarterbacks are rarely big scorers (unless you happen to play for a team that runs the option) and that just comes with the position, which is why they keep separate stats for touchdown passes.
