I am reaching out again to you re: a dog that came to our rescue that we think is likely a boerboel. She was surrendered to a very small rescue organization in lower Michigan near Ohio border. We have been seeing more and more boerboels coming out of Ohio and showing up at Michigan rescues. We were told by this small rescue group that this girl was good with large dogs and had lived in home with kids and reportedly good with kids but no small dogs and absolutely no cats. She was evaluated by an experienced dog person on Sunday and presented well at the boarding facility. Friendly, didn't pay much attention to other dogs at the facility. Pleasant dog. I've attached pics of her and can send more.

She is not doing well in her foster home. When the owners dog (a male coon hound) got excited about a squirrel and began twirling in circles, Nova became very agitated and lunged at him. Both dogs were on a lead so couldn't get to him but when she was corrected she redirected to foster mom's boyfriend and turned her head back to snap at him. We must move this dog out of this home within next day or two as her foster mom is a very tiny gal and not strong enough to adequately correct this dog and we don't want her in jeopardy or her dog. She also doesn't feel she is experienced enough with this type of behavior and we have no other place for this girl. Additionally, the report on her being with kids must be an outright lie because when she was in the backyard with foster mom and when she saw the neighbors young boy in his yard she stiffened up, tail straight out and was on guard. She has issues that we cannot deal with.

If you feel she is boerboel and can help her, please get back to me immediately. We must have her out of this house by Wednesday night and if there is no place for her to go, she'll be euthanized.

Adoption is always the best option! If you can't help by adopting a homeless bullmastiff, please consider making a donation to ABA Rescue Services. Please go to http://bullmastiff.us/rescue/index.html for details
