Poor boy, maybe he was a wonderful pet. Same with the collection of Pitt's...but one must remember, the Pitt that won the most contests and exhibited the most gameness was the one bred, not the UKC purple ribbon bench champ. In breeds where objective testing is done, looks and conformation perfection take a back seat. Sure, I can pick out the best LOOKING dog from your pics, but that is not how the breeders of old would decide who to breed.

I have owned many Racing Greyhounds that would not pass your image test...they do not at all resemble the AKC show Greyhound...but the final test for the breed being speed? No contest. If I had to catch a Jack Rabbit, give me the dog bred for speed, regardless of his looks.

So my point is this, why fix problems? Why go look for a fast dog to breed my slow Greyhound to? Why not go get a FAST greyhound and THEN go look for a fast dog to breed to?

This from a guy that breeds ugly dogs :)
David
