Tashi,

Let me start with your saying I am trying to bring attention to myself...Hardly, I am just here minding my own biz when someone angers you by merely mentioning my name. OH MY! The nerve of some people! A long time ago I promised to show up anytime you called on me...here I am as promised. Here is what you can do to keep me out of your hair;

If someone points out that I have a nice dog from say, John Blackwell’s
kennel, I say “yes, JB makes nice dogs”. Next time someone harmlessly
points out where you got your dogs and mentions my name, instead of making a production out of it you could say for example, “yes, David has made some nice dogs” or “yes, his name is also on the pedigree” or “his name appears on the pedigree, but let us not forget to mention all the effort put in by the kennels he got HIS dogs from,” or “yes, David makes such nice dogs that I have chosen one of his culls to be my stud-dog.”
You pick.

Now, your reference to my replacement policy; Do you not have one?
None of my business I guess. Let us talk about MY policy, and thank you for calling attention to it. Since I started breeding Boerboels, I have replaced two (2) pups that I can remember...one was a litter-mate to your stud, (he was the only one that left the farm and was put down by his new owner due to the severity of his mange) They have since acquired several more dogs from me. The other dog replaced was at my request, I was not happy with the dogs I kept from that litter and did not expect anyone else to be either. Only one guy took me up on that offer. So, like you, I am happy that he now has a nice pup. A wretched track record I admit, but look at the breed we are talking about.

Now, really the only thing I have left to address is what you call my farm gauntlet...your dog failed.

Tashi, in your post you made some egotistical claim that due to your many years of experience, support structures, selection processes, yad da yad da you start in a better than average place to select and breed for ‘stable protection’...then why did it take you so long to discover what Norman had been expressing concern over for more than a year, and what took me one morning here on the farm to discover about your dog?

Some of you should be glad my farm gauntlet is NOT the breeding criteria...

DKH
