Subject: Consider all details when wondering whether to purchase a pup

Hip scores, elbow scores, temperament tests, any other tests, etc. of the parents would be something to consider, as with any breeder.

I have my doubts about the Vit C for preventing Hip Dysplasia; mainly because I don't think it's as easy as that. I note this breeder is suggesting supplementation because we feed crappy food; well don't feed crappy food then; everything in kibble for the most part has been cooked out; therefore you would need to supplement. Vit C plays an important role in healthy teeth, gums & bones; helps heal wounds, scar tissue, & fractures; prevents scurvy; builds resistance to infection; aids in the prevention & treatment of the common cold; gives strength to blood vessels; aids in the absorption of iron. It is required for the synthesis of collagen, the intercellular "cement" which holds tissues together. It is also one of the major antioxidant nutrients. According to Dr. Linus Pauling, the foremost authority on Vitamin C, Vitamin C will decrease the risk of getting certain cancers by 75%. Dogs produce their own vitamin C; so not sure how much supplementation I would recommend; as well too much C produces loose bowels; very hard to deal with when you are potty training a pup. I use homeopathic supplements and have them work well; but my dogs are under the care of a homeopath and thus I follow her regime.

Oh and Ron; post the info. about high dose Vit C not working, I'd love to see what dose they used; 'cause there is research that shows it does; both for allergies, colds, and other complaints. http://www.doctoryourself.com/ascorbate.html
