Hi, Jennifer,

Below are some links on Linus' claims. There are far less resources saying it doesn't work on the web, as if it doesn't work, what the hell can you sell the fine people out there? :)

I note that it took some 20 years for the cold prevention links he claimed existed to finally be proved false with a comprehensive, peer reviewed study (unless you're a marathoner, etc.) and it will likely take another 20 years for all the claims to drop from the health food websites. I never argued that you don't NEED vit. C, just that it's one cog in that big machine of foods you should eat -- and feed your dogs, but probably you wont need to add any extra if you feed them average to high quality food.

I'm just not a believer in "extract magic chemical X and your health (or your dogs) will improve" as that's a bit too conveniently aligned with what a whole marketing machine of health food stores seems to be selling, and if you're as old as me you'll note how the new "cure-alls" come out just as the old stuff is disproved. As I said I suspect well rounded variety of meals of not-so-processed foods will give you what you need, but hey, I could be proved wrong.

I too use kibble, because it's less of a hassle than raw when you have a handful of large dogs, but do try to supplement high grade kibble with some raw, some veggies, some (oh my gawd!) table scraps to round out any little bits of the diet they might be missing.

But... All that said I have to admit that when I'm feeling sickness coming on I sure get the urge to grab some pills off the shelf, too, as I hate colds!!
