Wow. I am sorry this happened to you. I would feel heartbroken also, among other feelings.
Fortunately, I've never had anything actually stolen from my property (yet), but my family and I were actually awoken one night by a bugler on our property trying to break in. I kept him face down on the ground using my Beretta .40 until the police arrived and threw him in jail!! :)

You are right, it's obvious this scum knows your schedule, and they know when you're gone. I'm a Texan too, and thanks to Texas Penal Code 9.42, we're able to use deadly force to protect our property and land.

I will definitely be looking out for your precious puppies on the internet. Thieves are clever, but typically aren't the sharpest tools in the shed, so maybe they'll do something stupid like try to sell them online or in the paper. I used to work in law enforcement, and I emphasize with victims of burglary, since it happened to me.
