I've seen a goodly number of posts on this board regarding appearances on the show. Here's the website to sign up... BUT...
I wouold like to say that I'm upset by the restrictions put on the families.
1) No one under 18. (I could gather enough family to overcome this except...)
2) If you are guardian or parents to children under 18, you will not be selected.

Needless to say, while my wife and I have a healthy dose of cojones to fill the role, with enough skepticism in the rest of the family to make it interesting, I do not qualify because of my little ones, nor does my mom for having a single child under the age of 18. This really vexes me and I doubt the show will be on long enough to celebrate my kids' 18th.
Lastly, anyone notice the "enhanced/created effects" disclaimer at the end of the show????

Dear sir or madam:
I watched the most Scariest Places on Earth, on Feb.23,2002 with my son. The way the people acted on this show, got me thinking that this show was fixed. But it also got me thinking to interested in searching the real stories of Poveglia.
This island had a small city of 807 people in its history. At its time it has the best city and had it own goverment that run it. But it was destroyed in 1380 during the war of Genova. This when it became abandoned, until the story of boats of contigous diseases came to the island, but does not say anything about the Black Plaque, so still searching on this subject.
Yes there is a hospital on the island that has been used for the contigous diseases and one information I found it was also for the insane. But is little information so far and still interested to find more information.
In the World War 1 there was a small island in front of the island Poveqlia that was fortified to protect the islands and the minland of Italy. They had about four big guns on ths island that was formed of the octagon.
Poveglia, was a beautiful island filled with popular tree, now it is the fishmen use it to store the nets and other stuff. The people in the area, farmed the vineyards and other gardens. The Italy government did own it at one time but it was sold to someone which abandoned in 1968. According to some information, the people in the area have ghost stories from Poveglia. To this day according to some travel sites Poveglia is a place that tourist is not allowed on this island.
This is what I found so far but since I am interested in this subjuct I will read more on it.
If people watch The Scariest Places ON Earth, and don't think the show is right or think it is fony, then find the information for themself. There are books, web sites and other information to search on this. The more you know the more you can understand about the history of anything,countries and world. The information is in our hands, its how it is used.

Late last year the LVGHS investigated the Moonshine Cemetary in northern Lebanon County,Pa. The investigation centered around the "Blue Eyed Six". These guys were six men who,in the late 1800s and all six had deep blue eyes,killed a man for his insurance money. They were all hanged together at the courthouse in Harrisburg. There bodies were then brought up to Moonshine and buried there. This place is a very well known haunted place with the locals. When we were there I suffered a very violent vomiting attack. I felt great before we got there and after we left,but when I was in the cemetary I vomited 3 times for no apparent reason. For the next four nights I dreamed of a man,the same man every night. I can still picture him very clearly. He had a haircut sort of like Moe from the 3 Stooges,it was dark with a little grey in the front. He had a beard but no mustache,much like an Amish person would look. He was a thin man and dressed in light brown work overalls. In these dreams he did nothing but walk towards me,thats it. Ok,heres where you guys could maybe help me. I am looking for any pictures of what these six men looked like. I am also looking for what their victim looked like,Joseph Raber who is also buried there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've heard many stories about the Seven Gates of Hell in York, Pa. I've gathered I think as much info from the net that is possible. Seems like a few conflicting stories, but I guess that's how most stories end up after they are retold many times. I'm going to York very soon and would like any info on this place that is possible. Here's what I got AND ALL OF THIS IS HERESAY FROM THE NET, so it may be false.
I've read possible locations of two gates are in Stull Cementary which seems to be in Kansas, and one in Gambier Ohio. Why would these gates be in different states though?? Probably not true.
Toad Road has been renamed Trout Run Rd. and may turn into a stone road.
Any info on the story or location of these would be appreciated.

To whom it may concern,
I am very interested in becomming a ghost hunter but I'm not really sure how to get started. I don't have alot of money and would like to start out as simple as possible,I wold appreciate any help or advice you can give me.I would also like to know how to find out weither or not my own house(apartment) is haunted? It is a very old building and I'm sure at one time or another people have died in it weither or not their spirit still occupies the residents is another story I hope you can help me start what I've always wanted to do in my life:)

First I wanted to say thank you Sharon for answering my question about Jim Thorpe :) I'd still like to join the group sometime :)
I was wondering if any of you are familiar with any kind of hauntings or known ghosts that are possible to explore in the Pittsburgh area? I live about 5 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh and have always been interested. I took a few pictures in one of my apartments and saw orbs that I might send in for you guys to look at. Aside from that I have had no other experience personally that I can think of. I'd like to see what's out there. Any suggestions? Anyone else in Pittsburgh who wants to join me?

I have heard from several sources that the entire length of Dark Hollow Road in Buckingham is haunted. I was wondering if any of you had any details regarding this. The only thing I could come up with was a local legend about an abusive schoolmaster whose body was found years later in the remains of the schoolhouse. I have driven the length of the road, and looked far and wide for any sign of an old school house, but came up with nothing.
Do any of you have any information regarding this, or any other paranormal activity on Dark Hollow Road?

Hello. First let me start by saying I love this site! I live in California, yet I still check this site frequently for info and news. Keep up the good work!
Anyway, I have recently become interested in the history of state hospitals and insane asylums. I would be interested to hear some of your stories or experiences regarding ghosts or haunted asylums. I read an article that spoke of people, prior to investigating a cemetary, reciting a prayer for protection. Not protection from "dangerous ghosts," but protection from uninvited guests following them home. I have two guestions:
1. Is it possible for a spirit to follow you to your home?
2. If so, is a prayer really going to help?

Let me start by saying that I came across your site today for the first time while trying to find information. I love what I have seen and read so far.
Anyway, when I was 10 years old my mother remarried. My stepfather's sister, who lived near us with her husband and 2 daughters, owned a farm (in Carroll County, MD). The house they bought was an old meeting house during the Civil War. The first floor's walls all folded back to open up as one large room. My (Step) Aunt was and antique collector and dealer and made many crafts. Many people came and went and many family members spent much time in the house... I could go on for hours over all of the stories. If interested check out "Ghosts and Haunted Houses of Maryland" their chapter is called 'A Householdful'. Anyway, ever since, I have been very intrigued by "true" stories that I could find, especially in Maryland. If anyone knows where I could fing helpful info please email me... especially places the you can visit and join tours.
Also, just recently I went to visit my uncle for the first time at his new house. He moved to PA. I don't visit PA all that much so you'll have to forgive me if I am not spelling some of the areas correctly. I know the from my directions to get there from MD, I went up 83N to the Shrewsbury/Stewartstown Exit and turned left... we went up, to I believe a stop sign at Church Avenue or Road and drove for a while, then at the end we turned right on another road on which his house is located. It is in a deep Valley and is known to him and his neighbors as Raymeyer's Hollow. I was trying to find out anything I can about the area and the history of the "legend" I just found out today about a book "The Hex" (I don't know the author) that is apparhently written about this area and it's activities. I would greatly appreciate any information you that anyone could provide. I am hoping to colaborate a collection of this information and words I have had with my uncle into an amature writing project for myself.

Has anyone been to "The Pagoda" in Mount Penn, Reading PA? It is a huge chinese-designed building atop the mountain...Many people say it is haunted. I am clairsentient & recently went up there. It was terrible! The whole way in the car going up the mountain I was dizzy. When we got there I had a bad feeling. When I went down the steps leading to the base of the structure, I was overcome by nausea. My mom was there & she felt the same, but not as strong. I made it home just in time to throw up! This is the worst I have ever felt off a reading! Does anyone have any info or experiences that you can tell me about? It would really help!

Hi,
Recently i went to the Buck Hill Inn in the Poconos. A supposedly very haunted place.The first time I went they said you could not take pictures inside the inn so I took a whole roll outside and what i got back was alot like the pics i saw here on the this website. I was so intrigued i went back not even a week later and this time i took pics inside(luckily i didnt get thrown out)! I got the second set of film back and found some of the same things. I would like to send you some of these pictures and get a professional opinion on them.I would also like to know if you have any information on the Buck Hill Inn in the Poconos in PA. Everything that i looked up before seems to be gone now. Weird! Well, thanks!
