Ok, everyone post up. How many hunts have you had on the lease this season, what day's have you hunted (Sat, Sun...wed...), numbers of birds you've taken and numbers seen and which spots you have hunted from.

I've had 5 hunts, 3 Saturdays, 1 Sunday and 1 Friday (day after T-day). And a whopping 5 birds. 4 gads and one Ringneck......yeah I know......3 corner tank hunts and 1 middle tank.

One hunt was on Pintail pond with the Bwanas boys so I guess that might not count. So scratch one Sunday and 2 gads from the total.

Just curious who's killing what from where.....

Today I hunted the corner tank and shot nothing. Only two groups came in and they landed across the tank as usual and couldn't get a shot. I just watched them for 30 minutes. I saw a few snows.
I have hunted probably 6 times this year and killed 4 birds. Last Friday was the best day so far, but I couldn't hit anything.
Good luck and I hope it gets better for us.

Before my hunting came to a halt for the moment:
4 hunts to the corner tank produced 3 gads, 2 wigeon, 1 teal
1 hunt w/ Chris stalking woodies produce 1 woody hen
1 hunt @ Bristol produced 1 gad and 1 mallard susie
1 hunt to Battle Creek where I got skunked (not for the lack opportunities). However, the customer that I took hunting did get 1 wigeon and 1 gad

Hope the rest of the season gets better.

I can honestly say that I've had chances to take some birds but not as many chances as I thought I would. I hope the later the season gets the better the chances. I've hunted 7 days this year and my total limit is 4. Like many other hunters not a great season. Perhaps things may change in time, the frustration factor has come and gone just like the cold weather. Anyway, I have hunted the following areas with these results.

Bar Ditch - 0, Corner Tank - 0, Middle Tank - 0, Corner Tank - 0, Middle Tank - 0, Mallard Hole - 0, Middle Tank - 2 gad dk/wig dk, Middle Tank - 2 mal dk/wig.

I've made a change in hunting, I bought a motion decoy from Galyans. I believe it's helped, ducks do come in and look harder now and I also moved the decoys further out from the penisula blind. That pond is big and if they have landing areas further out from the blind they'll land in the hole they feel safe in. Like the hole on the opposite side of the decoys! The spread needs to change I think, but I'm not a guide service nor a pro outfitter either. Change is good and it wouldn't hurt, it cann't get any worse. The middle tank should be fixed also but it's just a suggestion. I guess that's my posting, I hope everyone has a great Christmas and a safe New Years.
