Subject: The night from hell

For two weeks now, had my heart set at dinner at the Warwick Hotel in Hummelstown outside Harrisburg, with a friend I really like. She stood me up (for a very legitimate reason).

So I head to the new El Rodeo on Jonestown Road. The lot is packed, and I swing the Durango across a construction median (no rental vehicles now, I want the big V-8 and 4WD just in case of attack). I get out, and hear SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH from the right front tire. A f#$%in' puncture.

Its freakin' cold out. I start the horrible process of finding the jack, etc. Why can't they have the old style jacks that were so simple to work? I place the jack under the right front section just behind the wheel well. As I jack, I suddenly hear yet another SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Turns out there some kind of line, I assume for air conditioning, which I just punctured with the jack. $$$$$$.

I jack down and re-position. Its really freakin' cold now, and I've started the cursing ritual. I jack as far up as it will go, and wedge off the flat. Try to put the new tire on, and the truck is not up high enough despite the jack being at max.

Put the old tire under the axle and jack down again. Begin search for some type of shim to put the jack on. I'm wandering down Jonestown Road. Its #$$%^^& cold out. Find a busted cinderblock form the old demolished El Rodeo.

Jack up again, and the jack handle slices into and tears my black leather bomber that I love.

It sucks to be me.

BD, in a really bad mood at the moment.
