Hello everyone - thanks for the (mostly) kind words. Pat, I'm sorry if I offended you. It doesn't seem like you knew me. I left the centre over 11 years ago. The title "Colonel" was not an official rank bestowed by Chinmoy so I could abuse or dictate to others,in case you were thinking that,it was (to me)an affectionate nickname that many disciples called me by. To this day, many of my best friends still call me that.
At this point, I don't think I'm influenced by Chinmoy's philosophy or his writing style. Once I left the centre, although I continued to question who and what he was, Chinmoy was no longer the centre of my spiritual universe. I found other sources of inspiration, past and present, in print and in person, who didn't demand my unquestioning absolute obedience or loyalty. For old friends who want to get in touch, I would love to hear from you privately. I'll leave my e-mail address this time. - Tarak
