In reply to: ... 's message, "Were the results read backwards?" on Sunday, June 25, 05:12:29pm

It IS QUITE POSSIBLE...the final 5 were somehow scored/delivered in reverse order.some audience people EVERY year EVERY pageant picks a different winner. But IMO....... Miss Masek clearly had an inferior talent compared to...conservatively... at LEAST 6 of the other 10 SF...She messed up her OSQ answer AGAIN, just like MD USA 16. There she got what the general consensus was...a 4RU finish...she wasnt happy about ( go to pageant update.com find picture of the top five for Maryland USA last year and look at her facial expression in the picture) but she clearly got hung up on the final question so a fourth runner-up finish was what earned.finally, she mathematically won no top placement in INTERVIEW/ SWIM/ TALENT

I just hope that if there was a mathematical error or reverse order issue, that the forces that be will take this Sunday in review, find it, then come forward and fix this on Monday. There would be strong emotions all around but there would also I feel be a general sense correcting a commonly felt wrong. If this really was the correct placement, you have to wonder what a seasoned competitor would consider about competing at the Maryland system again, you have now witnessed a quite illogical finish to a state level pageant of the highest notoriety.

I do not "do" pageantry. This is just a common woman's take on her 3rd pageant viewing experience. I also did not have family or children competing in pageantry I came to watch a co-worker's daughter compete who does compete regularly so I have become a little familiar with this and the other USA system over the last of years.

[> [> [> Subject: Oh please, Susan Powell did not read the results backwards. She has been doing this for far too long to make a mistake like that! Sherry got who she wanted end of story. Wake up people, it's not fair but it's the way it is and you can't change it so move on.

#1 the results can't be read backwards! The card clearly says fourth runner up- (name),third runner up-(name), etc., #2 the commotion was because Susan forgot to call the top 5 to line up center stage before she started calling out their ranking, #3 the surprised act by Sherry deserves an academy award, Unfair as it is, Sherry and the board got the Miss Maryland that was handpicked long before the first night of prelims. Hannah sold Kathleen to the board and will personally prep her for Miss America! It's all very sad and disgusting but in the end they think Kathleen's striking look will get her far in the competition but I'd be surprised if they let that lazy talent act anywhere near the television cameras!! If the board is going to handpick girls despite their qualifications they should have auditions for the job and skip the actual pageant

It's time to walk away from competing in Miss Maryland or the Teen division, something is off most years with the judging.
