Kathleen, Morgan, and Emma were all in same group...Morgan and Emma clearly had stronger talents, Morgan won in prelim swim (if I remember correctly), their OSQs were stronger even if you don't agree with them and their evening gowns stunning...and Emma won miracle maker, academic, and Colombo awards...so she must have had a strong resume. Shea was consistently outstanding in all phases winning prelim talent and OVERALL interview also clearly miles ahead of the winner in talent and stayed true to herself in OSQ, standing by her convictions in her answers (again whether you agree with her or not). Her evening gown although beautiful did minimize her stunning looks. Both Shea ans Morgan in black were underwhelming in gown. The first runner up was also consistently very talented and fit. Her evening gown was among my two favorites both nights along with Emma's. Both were perfect fits and beautifully modeled. Kathleen's dress swallowed her ans did not show her frame at all. It wore her as opposed to her wearing it. Kathleen is clearly taller than the rest, and beautiful in swim but swim is not worth that much in overall score. The other girls were shorter and different body types but just as fit. Miss MD org could have gotten any 9 of the top 10 ready for Atlantic City. I'm afraid that unless kathleen has some other hidden talent, we will not see her in the finals beyond swim maybe. Victoria Graham is an amazing young woman who would have served the state well as she continues to do, she's already put maryland on the national map.
The results really tell me there were high expectations about Kathleen so she was scored high and other girls were discounted at the start. By the time the finals came, it was too late?
I was there with a friend whose daughter competed in teen. Left very confused!!
