I had the pleasure of competing with her and without a doubt she should have placed top 10! She really improved in talent and lost a lot of weight and really looked healthy. And we all know she kills it at the interview! Plus, she was one of the girls that got really sick and the fact that she was off stage getting sick moments before walking out on that stage and performing she still killed it. IMO.... the judge should have known that too! to simply tell the judges some girls were sick was wrong they should have known just what girls. You rock Arcadia!

You can't blame just one person in what is happening in this system as a whole. It's a dying art because most contestants lack substance. Using MD as an example I'm not sure how 3/4 of the miss and teens could write one word on their platform statement because they don't do anything. When it's acceptable at every level to lie and embellish the resume and platform statement you eventually get winners that don't make sense and have no substance to be interesting. The girls that really work for the system get over looked by the creative writing of someone with a wild imagination. It's also a family effort especially when it comes to the fundraising which seems to be more important every year. When you have the too focusing on #metoo and swimsuit instead of concentrating on getting quality girls to apply for the job you will continue to have a system that appears to be falling apart. When a girl works the system they do learn life lessons that no one can take away from them unlike the crown which believe it or not 95% of America could really care less about. So hats off to the real winners..those that work hard and never win because they will be much more successful in life!

Anyone who hasn't worked their cause or worked period...they know who they are and plenty more embellish. Morals are the minority!

[> Subject: Re: arcadia Ewell -I was there and the sound system went out on Megan Cox who performed right before her that she had to play most of her talent without a mic and they Arcadia came out and the sound system was so loud it was hard to hear her. It was like they were messing with it cause you couldn’t hear Megan that it messed up Arcadia. Half way through it sound like it went out for a second or so which might have messed her up. They let Megan completely redo her talent and they should have let Arcadia as well.
