Subject: Careless days...

It had been one of those days, nothing seemed to go right. The waitress hadn't gotten the order right at breakfast, his watch battery died so he ran late to his shift, on the way there he almost hit a kid, he got griped out by his commanding officer, he was assigned clean up duty of the energy manafolds (The number one hated job of all Rugby enlisted officers because it meant crawling around on your hands and knees in dingy, dirty and dark corridors with a tooth brush like instrument), and on top of that, he found out that his vacation request was denied. It all seemed so important, it all seemed like a big worry....but oh how that would change. How he wished he could go back and take back that piece of his mind he shared with the waitress, how he longed to have taken his time getting to work and saving that mother the fright of almost loosing her child, how he regretted saying the disrespectful things behind his commanders back. How those things change in time of crisis.

These things came into perspective as Jared peered out of a vent watching in horror as people he cared about, but hadn't taken the time to tell were mowed down by an unkown enemy.

All the things he thought were once important became none existant objects in his life as he focused on the grander picture. If he only knew before, if we had only taken the time to think of others...how much better would have things been?
