Subject: Disturbance in Paradise

Taurus was setting in the T’orros sky sending vivid colors across the horizon illuminating the puffy white clouds and reflecting off the still, cool waters. A silhouetted flying ‘v’ of birds floated by the orange sun. Their graceful flaps added to the already perfect picture. A single bird near the back fell to the water and disappeared in a splash of color. The orange sun faded behind the horizon as dark storm clouds formed over the base.

Large black ships floated down from the sky descending on the T’orros colony. White wolves were emblazoned to the side of each side of the ships, their red eyes glowing in the now fading light. They were military drop ships, owned by the group commonly known as the Wolf Brigade. The ships landed all over the docking port, their sides opening up and the armored soldiers within running out. As if on cue, Primary power to the station was shutdown, the lights going black. Small orange lights appeared in key locations as secondary power was activated. The soldiers were in highly armored exosuits. They carried high-caliber machine guns and enough ammo to supply them through multiple offenses. They had helmets that covered their whole face and red eyes that hauntingly pierced through the darkness. Though the glowing eyes were from their night vision, it still gave off an unreal, unnatural light.

Hundreds of them poured out of the drop ships as the sneak attack went into full swing. Defenses finally came online as assault cannons took out a two drop ships in a fire explosion. The point was moot since many had already landed past the defensive perimeter.

T'orros security teams quickly arrived in the access points of the lower levels. They took defensive positions and tried to repel the oncoming forces from behind their make-shift bunkers. The Brigade made no effort to take cover, but walked straight towards the access points with a cold determination. The shots from the security team harmlessly ricochet off their advanced armor.

Team 1 was mowed down in a blaze of fire. A young man’s dreams of starting a family were taken down with them. The brigade moved on past the cold dead bodies and the pools of blood.

Team 2 changed tactics as they heard Team 1’s plight through the comlink. The screams of their dieing comrades echoed in their ears as they fired off a portal cannon into the masses of oncoming soldiers, in a flash of light they were banished to a forsaken planet. It wasn’t enough; the team was quickly swallowed up by the pack of wolves. Teams 3 & 4 met similar fates as their limb bodies hit the cold metal floor.

Without hesitation the Brigade made their way directly to the Command Center. Flash bombs went off in the entrance stunning all on the inside. With stunning precision the soldiers entered and secured the area.

T’orros had fallen. It was now territory of the Wolf Brigade now.

A single person clapping was heard outside of the entrance to the command center. It echoed for a bit, but became more distinct and loud as a graying middle-aged man dressed in all-black officer garb entered the room. He stopped as he looked across the room at the hostages and his soldiers.

”Well done my men. Well done. T’orros is ours.” He gave a short smirk, and began to walk around the room. “Let’s inform the good Captain Howitzer of our new found fortune, I’m sure he’d be most interested in knowing the status of the colony, yes? Open up a channel”

”WHAT ARE YOU DOING ON MY BASE!!!???!!!” Howitzer came in loud and clear as the angry image of the Rugby Captain appeared. His eyes glowed with a determination and controlled wrath that seemed to emanate from deep inside his spark.

“My good captain, you seem to be mistaken. This is my base now. If I even see an SBR ship near this sector of space, I will begin to kill hostages. You wouldn’t want to see poor women and children die would you? I think not. T’orros is needed for our purposes; I’m sure you can do without it since you have so much else to keep you busy. Why don’t you go and play on that planet near your station eh? I’m sure it’ll more than make up for the loss of this small colony. Oh, and don’t worry, we’ve only killed military personnel…so far. If you’d like to keep it that way, remember to keep away from this sector. Have a good day captain.” The man made a cutting sign to a soldier who promptly ended the transmission.
