After careful considerations, I haf come up with a suggestion for the songs to play on 28/9..

1)I FOR U
This song if played well shd make quite an impact, hence e 1st song
2)SONG 2
Pretty rock.. wat more to say
3)LIANG NIAN
At this stage, the mood shd settle down, therefore the sentimental songs will come in
4)YAN ZHONG
Another sentimental hit..
5)NI DE BEI YING
Mood builds up slightly at this point of time
6)SOMEWHERE SOMETIME
At this point the audience would haf been tired out by constant rock ballads..
7)IM IN LOVE
8)JIA ZHUANG
9)I WILL SURVIVE
Tempo and mood starts to pick up now
10)FENG YU SHUI YUE
Wat better way to end with a song abt friendship..

ENCORE...

1)PARADISE
1st song of encore.. quite rock
2)WO SHI FEN NU
We've left the best to the last.. Finish off with a BANG!

This is jus a recommendation.. Pls give urs as well n we will all sit down nxt session n discuss the final list...

*We booked the studio tentatively from 3-5... $50 an hour...
Guorong pls see if the timing is fine..
As for the $, we will work it out...

Agreed. I Will Survive seems pretty oddly placed, but I cannot figure any other good place for it. Will do. First two songs followed by an original is very good. Keep the first 3.

------------
I suggest we play the whole gig from song1 to song10 for the next session. And we'll keep doing that until the performance. It'll be tough to remember the sequence, but do try.

Another suggestion is to not have any breaks for the actual performance. I.e, play the 10 songs from start to finish, without breaks. That is unless the audience wants... but I'm against breaks. Anyone can watch a 2 and half hour movie without going to the toilet, hold the location for 6 hours during a rock concert, why not a 1 hour performance? This is a show, we are here to entertain. Let's keep the audience interested for an hour.

What do you guys say. Everyone input.

Also, please visualise the whole sequence and say if there's any difficulties on your part.

Ya the timing is fine. I am fine with the song arrangements too, but somehow i feel Song 2 and I will survive should go togehter. Just a suggestion though.

I agree and support the sequence. Because there is a progression of mood and style. Maybe we can try them out without having an intermission.

Equipment List
I have thought about the upcoming concert for abit. We have 2 hours... Most probably, the first hour will be for sound test and equipment arrangement. Depending on the guests arrival time, this period could be cut short.

The concert will start at 4pm sharp, and end on time... I think we don't wanna be charge for over-time.

With that on mind, I have a suggestion:

1) We come up with a list of equipment and number of power points needed and hand the list to the staffs on our next session. This is will tell them the number/type of amps we need, number/type of cables we need, and power points. Preferably, the stage plan should be drawn to facilitate positioning of the amps and powerpoint. Joel, can you do this? If you're busy, can you arrow someone else (besides me) to do it? The info should be printed out and professionally done. Instructions clear.

--------------------
PNP Backdrop
With the concert in mind, I suddenly remembered the photos we took for the last concert and recalled the sign "Take the stage" as a backdrop. An idea came to me that we may wanna create our own backdrop. What do you guys say? Preferably, the backdrop shouldn't be a solid block of styrofoam as it becomes difficult to transport it.

--------------------
Group Arrangement
I was watching the tv and noticed the ad for the latest V6 album. (In case you don't know, V6 is a Jap group who sang "Change The World")

After viewing the ad for many times, I suddenly discover that we can use their position as reference for our group. They have 6 person too. The group formation are nice, arty, and professional. You guys may wanna check out their site or lookout for their ad on tv. I particularly like the following formation:

_______X______
___X______X___
_____X________
X____________X

Think we wanna finalise the vocal parts for each songs? I.e, who is singing which parts for which songs + harmony.

Yaocheng should be the best person to do this. Look through the entire song list and decide once and for all the parts. We'll stick to that and practice. K?

well ... basically ... i've finalised all those parts that we have to harmonise ..... just depends on whether it'll be fine for all to harmonise on those parts (esp weikai .... i understand that its very hard to harmonise with ur bass. .. just see which parts u can k =) )

For individual songs... i'll be singing all except

1)Yan Zhong -- Jinfeng
2)Ni De Bei Ying -- Ronghui
3)Feng Yu Shui Yue -- (actually i hope this song can everyone sing =) )

Okay, you decide what is best for the song and inform us. Harmony will need practicing outside our normal jamming hours.

Joel will be working on the Equipment List...

Who is doing backdrop?

Who is working of the Performance Sequence? I.e. The list that tells us the song sequence with speeches... Important! Quickly decide and post them here so the rest of us can memorise the sequence and play accordingly for tomorrow's jam.

Ok, since no one taking the initiative, i haf to do it, isn't it?

I tink i can only give a rough guideline, we w haf to make alterations here n there until we finalise it...

1)Start 'I for u' den 'song 2' without saying anything..

2)Before 'Liang Nian', say smething to introduce our band, maybe abit on liang nian n so on.. (yaocheng u haf to tok here..)

3)After liang nian start yan zhong immediately...

4)B4 nidebeiying maybe i say smething abt the song..

5)Actually i tot of swaping nidebeiying wif liang nian bcos nidebeiying abit similar to somewhere sometime, audience may get bored.. hmmm.. not sure lah... wat u guys tink?

6)B4 im in love we shd say smething.. Maybe smething not related to our songs.. maybe can entertain the crowd abit.. dunno how but maybe can ask guorong to say smething...

7)im in love followed by jia zhuang..

8)at tis pt of time i realise yaocheng wld haf sang 3 songs in a row maybe shd let him rest abit.. Drums solo?? Keyboard solo??

9)i will survive..

10)b4 feng yu haf to say smething abt frenship.. thank the crowd n so on..

11)Ok, officially we end here if no ENCORE.. haha.. hey got anyone arrange someone to shout or not?

12)paradise.. i feel like singing tis one leh.. hee.. see how 1st..

13)wo shi fen nu to end.. b4 tis song, a final wrap up..

For all the toking, unless specified, will be done by yaocheng.. reason - these breaks r for us to prepare our instruments for the coming song.. It is quite appropriate for the lead vocal to tok anyway..

Oso, i tot it will be nice if we can let guorong sing one part of a song (i tink e crowd will all be cheering at tis pt of time) guorong tink abt it..

btw, i will be doing a feedback form for the performance.. shd be out soon..... (i relli v busy)

Weikai w be doing the cherographing of movements n positionings...

I have suggestions for solo... first of all, is the Buckethead track, StarWars. I suggested this piece some time ago...

StarWars - req. Guitar1, Guitar2, Drums

Then of course, are the 2 rhythm in blues of something that Ronghui got for us in the CD...

Rhythm in Blues - req. Guitar1, Guitar2, Drums

I know by itself, Star Wars may cause a distain... but listen to it... its afterall, played by one of the greatest rock guitarist now.

And oh, if don't use Star Wars also nvm... maybe no time to practice for the coming concerts... as the parts can be pretty challenging... BUT, I'm strongly recommending this as one of our solo line up...

Firstly, because its a very universally recognised tune,
Secondly, its way damn too popular,
Thirdly, this version is pretty rock and stylo,
Fourth, its short at under 2 minutes. =)
