Hi there, I'm also a duenas but with no clue as to where my family came from . I do have cousins in el paso tx with last name Duenas. For the longest time we were the only Duenas in the phone directory and now there is a lot. Thru out my life , I've met 4 Jose Luis Duenas's (a truck driver , Catholic priest, a customer passing thru El Paso Tx and in Los angels California) My grand parents are gone and no answer to my question.

My father is from Mexico, his name Jose Luis Dueñas, his father's name was Gregorio Duenas. We are in El Paso, Texas with cousins with the Dueñas surname and Hernandez. I was born in El Paso but was raised south central New Mexico! Growing up the only Dueñas in the phonebook was my father and uncle with someone named Angel. Now there are several including my cousins and there children. I've met several people with the Dueñas name but not even related. They are Mexican, Puerto Rican, Salvadoran and Dominican! Want to go to Palencia,Spain where the name originated.
