Personally, I feel the reasons for owning/caring for such animals, is really "Human perceptions". I feel the same about my dogs, though there's probably not hardly a trace of "wolf" in them.

The thing I do see, is that those who say "These animals are the best" open themselves up as people who also say "I'm better then you" attitude and after a time, it's not a surprise that there's a rift in relations.

And I know there's horse owners who feel the same way about their creatures.

BTW, this is NOT a flame. Only personal opinion.
