In reply to: Jasper 's message, ": possesed :" on 13:24:58 07/04/06 Tue

While the Master caressed her hair, which was something Kuro was new to - not that she disapproved it, she was just not used to it - the female leaned slightly into the embrace. It wouldn't do to leave the vampire displeased. But, when he pulled away to leave her stranded to explain herself, Kuro all but pouted. Attention-loving? Who, Kuro?

But, she went to the task at hand. "There's no obvious pain involved with the shift," she explained. "The only thing that ever caused me pain was the thought of my internal organs changing places. And that's just a mental pain. Otherwise..." Kuro glanced down at her hand, which was already beginning to break out in fur and spots. The shifter shrugged. "It's my other half. I feel the same."

.. He chuckled again, smiling. Kuro seemed to be a little show-offy to this male and it was rather entertaining. He only hoped that that was about as far as she was going to take it. Jasper could spook easily, Dorjan could already see that, and if Kuro pushed something a little too much... well, Dorjan didn't want to break too hard, but it could always work.

"If you have any general questions, Kuro will answer them for you. Make sure he gets his meals." It was obvious he was getting ready to leave, but was waiting a bit longer to make sure that Jasper wasn't to try and claw his way out of the room first. ..

He paid attention to the feline quite intently, seeming somewhat eased, murmuring, "Oh.. does like, your spine change too? I think that'd be a weird feeling.." Jasper even dared to give her a smile, showing that he was grateful to her for explaining so politely - she was a pleasant contrast to Dorjan.

At the master's words he looked back up, a slightly confused and hurt look held. That.. was it? He made it sound like he'd never see him again. He'd let him do those things last night, he'd fought with him and got his ass kicked from said fights - all for nothing? He tried to not look too dissappointed, not saying anything and looking away. Didn't want the master to think that Jasper was going to miss him.

Kuro gave a small bow to the Master, just to show that she was listening. Her forearm became smooth and dark again. Nobody missed their meals, even if it killed them. It was how one survived in these here parts. That, and clawing at each others' faces trying to blind each other. But that hadn't happened since....oh, say, Thursday?

To the lesser vampire, Kuro just laughed. Not a rude, barking one, but the question amused her. She shook her head. "Nay, the feeling isn't strange if one was born feeling it. But, perhaps to one who's never felt their innards change position or have their bones crunch together, it would be odd."

The shifter glanced back at the vampire. There seemed to be a question in her eyes. "Say we talk philosophy for a moment. My experience is life to me as...." She left him to fill the blank. It wasn't that she was ignoring Dorjan. No, never that. It's just that...well, he was just so boring. No conversations or anything. At least with Gordon there were lessons and whatnot. He never wanted his slaves to be ignorant, just wary. Perhaps Dorjan would come around...?

.. Despite Jasper's attempts to hide his own mistrust about the new situation, Dorjan was able to pick up on it as Kuro probably was as well. He smiled down at the hybrid, shaking his head slightly before listening with mild interest to Kuro. Boring as she thought of him, he was pressed for time at the moment. She'd been thrown into the mix at a rather... unprevailing point in the mansion's re-establishment that he was exactly ready to admit to. Eventually, he might indeed pick-up on the what Gordon and her expected of him.

But for now, he was clueless and would continue to amuse himself in the few spare moments of time he had.

He took a few steps in the direction of the door and Jasper before turning to look more directly at the halfbreed. Smiling, he leaned over as he raised a hand to rest gently on Jasper's opposite cheek, placing a smooth kiss to the corner of his lips. "Behave yourself."

He stood back up, moving a bit away from Jasper and more towards the door. "I'll invite you to dinner one evening, Kuro, when things settle in a bit more. Leave him with Koen and Kyan when I do." ..

Jasper gave a small shrug to the female - he understood her, but at the moment he seemed sullen and more unlikely to talk. Despite the fact that she was going to be of great aid to him, and most likely his only companion for now, he felt somewhat disinclined to be friendly to her. She was physically strong, yes - but to the boy, she was mentally weak, to have given in to such a lifestyle. How wrong he was; not weak, just smart.

As Dorjan came near he lifted his head a bit, spotting the hand coming near but not flinching, jsut kinda looking at him as if to say, 'more tricks?' though it faded at the kiss. That was nice - he was growing quite fond of such affectionate acts. Dorjan's kiss was not left without reaction, as once he turned away, Jasper couldn't help but smile and lower his head a little to try and mask it.

Weak, huh? Well, what was he to have given in to it as well? But, Kuro, my dear, you must remember that vampires, especially vampires in bed, can be quite persuasive. She tried to hide her grin at the half-breed's enjoying attention. Everyone loved attention. She couldn't lie about it.

To the exiting vampire, Kuro bowed slightly. Of course the shifter would take the vampire up on that offer, just not quite so soon. Leave Jasper with Koen and Ky, huh? Intrigued: who, Kuro?

Now that Dorjan was as good as gone, the female turned back to the shy male. It wasn't that she wasn't happy to have someone to talk to, it was just...Well, to put it bluntly, there wasn't any trust between them. Could she trust this man - well, boy - with her life? Probably not at this particular moment, but they'd get there.

"I expect the Master didn't show you around. Shall we go for a tour of the house?" No shape changing, no furry claws popping up in unexpected places. Kuro was all-human. For now.

He waited until Dorjan had left the room before looking to the lady, eyeing her closely at the suggestion of the tour. Great, his plans were finally given an opportunity to start and here he was having second thoughts. Of course, after only a moment's considerationg, he deemed the retrival of his chair of greater importance than staying and being some idle, lazy ass.

"Yeah, sounds good to me," he murmured, staying by the door, not seeing the need to go closer. They were going right out, anyway. "Have you been here long?" Oh, wow, he was trying to start a conversation. He was swiftly deciding that to get anywhere, he'd need her help - who knew, maybe this catty girl could be of aid to him. Jasper was one to take advantage of companions, if need be...

Kuro watched the human boy for a minute. Her body still but for the movement of her eyes. Was it just his unease around her or could it be that he just didn't like it here? Nevertheless, the shifter would do as she was told. His move for the door seemed to snap her out of any non-human thoughts. Perhaps like food.

"I have been here but a few days. Still, there is a lot to teach someone who doesn't know our heirarchy." She took a step closer, almost herding him to the door. The female left the conversation there. In order to teach, you had to show. And Kuro was better at showing than telling, wouldn't you agree?

"Would you like me to explain to you first the rules of the household before we actually enter the household? There are more dangers here than meets the human eye." Not that he was human, but he was more so than most of the visitors here were and that was a problem that would have to be addressed. If he was to be guarded, then he needed to know against what. Go at it, Kuro, ol' girl.

He moved closer to the door, gaze turned away, saying in an eager tone - of course false, "Yeah, that would be really great. Already know rule one; don't piss off Dorjan." The second sentence was spoken in a flatter, more serious tone. He knew it from experience. Jasper was quiet again soon enough, waiting for her to speak and lead further out. This was valuable information to him; more than he'd anticipated, but worthwhile nonetheless.

Kuro chuckled softly, a curious sound that reminded some of bells. "That would be a variation of the first rule. The actual written rule is this: The Master's word is law. To break it is to undermine his authority and that isn't something you want." The shifter moved closer to the door and waved him through, heading down the hallway, but away from the guest bedrooms.

"The heirarchy here is similar to that of a feudal lord's castle. There are people with certain responsibilities and tasks. The higher you are on the ladder, the less tasks you have, the more power you have over others, and the more blame you take for mistakes. The way to get up the ladder is to be good, not be punished." Kuro shivered involuntarily, remembering her own experiences with punishment and making her way up the social ladder in her old household.

"But, what questions do you have about the household? It's better to answer things you don't know than repeat things you do, anyways."

He nodded slowly and moved to willingly follow behind her, listening in respectful silence. She obviously had plenty of experience, he could tell; a definite aid. Jasper crossed his arms across his lower back, gazing about the place, responding quietly, "I suppose I have a few questions... How many 'slaves' are in this mansion? Are there other mansions?"

She continued her trek down the corridor, leaving her back exposed to him, giving him this measure of trust to test him. In fact, if Kuro didn't need to protect him and keep him from running out of the mansion, screaming, then she would be the one walking behind him, following him like a shadow just within arm's reach in case he bolted. But, that wasn't the case. He did need protecting, she did need to explain the mansion's working to him, and he wasn't dashing around trying to make his escape. Yet.

Kuro didn't even glance back at him when she responded. "There aren't more than 10 slaves in this mansion. A few...people you should avoid in the guest bedrooms. This is small for a mansion of the Master's status." In response to his second question, she did turn back to him, but only for a glance. Wouldn't want a graceful lady like herself to be running into things, now would we?

"There are plenty of other mansions, run by vampires, shapeshifters, anyone who has power, not to mention money to spare. The household I came from is known for its breeding lines. Another could be known for their pit fighters. Each Master has their own area of expertise." She answered the questions and fell silent. No need to give away too much information, right?

He watched her closely, observing her casual, yet aware stride; he was clearly of no threat to her, and he wanted to keep it that way. He was not sure exactly how far she would go to honor her master's requests, leaving Jasper clueless about whether she would get violent with him if he tried to escape.

"Alright," he murmured softly to the comment about staying out of the guest bedrooms. They didn't sound like a place he needed to go to get his chair, so they were of no importance to him. To the furthered speech about other mantions, he said nothing, jsut gave a frown to indicate he heard, and was not pleased with that fact.

He didn't say more, simply followed, waiting to be led into familiar territory in which he could attempt to take what was his, and leave.
