Hello again. I have yet to get a response to my first posting so I figured I'd ask a few more questions that have come up to try to save time (hope that's OK).

I recently moved a relatively high traffic tech support board from the InsideTheWeb service due to unacceptable problems there (posts getting sucked into a *black hole*) and I'm having a few problems trying to configure my board to accomodate the high volume of postings.

Unfortunately I did not understand initially that our "archives" are in a read only format and had set my board to archive at 40kb, thinking that 440kb of posts spread out over 11 pages would be the best option. BIG mistake! As soon as I realized that the roll-over to an archive kills the ability to post to the thread (not an acceptable option for our use) I immediately changed that setting back to 200k however to my dismay the board again self-archived less than 48 hours later at a size of only 50k!

Having the board self-archive in it's entirety every two days (leaving postings made only minutes before unresponded to and without provision for a response) just won't work. Helllllllp!

I really appreciate the space and while I will have some suggestions in the future as to making a great service even better if I can't get this problem licked quickly I'm in the soup with a lot of folks counting on the service. All I need is a board where I can have a relatively large number of posts accessable (and not read only) for at least 7 days, all other issues are secondary and mostly cosmetic.

I'm open to suggestions from both Voyager staffers and fellow users. Thanks in advance!

Don
