Oops, my bad. In fixing the prior problem there was a typo -- it was a quick fix. Sorry about that.

Now, regarding missing messages -- it's possible that this is due to the conversion process. The old forums had bugs which prevented some posts (and even threads) from being carried over. This is not a problem with the new version of VoyForums, but a problem in retaining the old messages (which we tried very hard to do!). Things would have been much more simple had we simply thrown the new version online, disregarding any of the old corrupt data. However, since you seem to truely be in desire of these posts, I'm gonna go ahead and see if I can figure out what went on. The only problem, now, is that there would be no way of putting those into your forum if you have new messages there; that is, if I were to modify the conversion program to try to see what other corruption I can make it "smart" enough to account for, once ran, it would overwrite your database with all the old messages (now made new). Keep in mind there's no guarantee I can get it to work any better than it does now -- it already takes all messages in, disregarding corruption of order and threading, and rebuilds the main index (and archives) "cleanly".

It's also important to understand that this is a sacrifice made to ensure your forum in the new version is not corrupt, and trying to include other data in there may also bring over some gremlins. *smile*

Can you give me a sample of one of the long messages now missing (the author, maybe some text you remember from the content so I can search for it?) I'll see if there's something that can cleanly be done to salvage those posts, but I'm still not sure if I can have it merged with the new ones.

Take care!

By the way, how do you like the new version's configuration area? We completely rewrote the configuration-handling area as well (most of it you don't see, but you do see the newly-broken down sections, and the other features now available in much cleaner form, including notification of errors, password changing, etc.)

Happy Saturday!

Sincerely,
Brandon
