Subject: DOES THE WORD PEON COME FROM pee on?

We're peons - so what. It's especially noticeable when we put hundreds of the same thing in little boxes - a thing that hardly any of the recipients care that much about. But we do it again and again until at some point we have become an expert in that menial task. Personally I think one can gain a certain amount of satisfaction in being the expert in what we do. Others have been quick to criticize a lack of ambition - I mean that I should seek a career say with the marketing department or something - after all I have a degree in marketing from a pretty good university and quite a few years in business before I came here. But I rather like what I do. I think my customers appreciate what I do and except for my demeanor in the office which can be a teeny bit abrasive, I think I have the appreciation of most of the people I have worked for. Call me a peon, but I'm in pretty good company too all with considerable expertise in what we do. And to that I am surprised and disappointed that the powers that be fail to take advantage of that wealth of knowledge as if seeking the knowledge of the little people would somehow diminish their ability to manage. Quite the opposite I would think. And you would think that with the abysmal bottom line that the business is recording, they would be seeking any possible input.
