In reply to: Distant Echo 's message, "Torn" on 17:40:27 11/06/02 Wed

He watched her leave, the tiny bit of happiness he'd ever had escaped. He felt sad she was leaving. She couldn't! He wouldn't let her, she was the only one he even saw him...He lingered for a moment.

Was he doing the right thing? He was. He would follow her into the Loner Lands, but could he? He really liked her, but deep down something held him back. He couldn't leave Whirl Wind and everyone, could he?

All the choices swirled. He hated it. Why? He couldn't do it alone. He had to choose between pack life, or loner life.

He gulped and took a step towards Distant Echo, but stopped hesitently. He had to leave, this pack life was no good if he wasn't even noticed, besides with no one else left, but three others, it wasn't much of a pack. No! His paws wouldn't budge. He tried to move them, with no luck.

He tried again. One paw stepped forward like a heavy brick. He stepped again. Then he was frozen. He howled telling Distant Echo what he had always wanted to tell her.

The mesage was: " I think I-I-I I think I llove you Disttant Echo, you have always noticed me. We share the same feelings, nearly the same wounds. I will always miss you..." The mournful howl brought tears to his eyes.
