I know most of you probably find this pretty boring and want me to get on with writing and posting, but I thought you'd like to know the system upgrades went very well. Upgraded my server to a dual processor, increased the RAM, upgraded my RAID and RISK controllers, swapped out the core drives with larger capicity, upgraded the os and tweaked the kernel (TY Linux!), and all sorts of wonderful boring stuff that make my nipples hard. There, trying getting some sleep with that image in your head!
Also rebuilt not just two but three of my central computer systems. Okay, one of them is a piece of junk that I use for bizarre testing purposes, but it is functioning much better now and can withstand even more punishment (I think). All that is left to do is integrate everything under the server, set up the routers, re-cable everything, setup firewalls and NATS so they can funciton together, get the script blockers in place, test the app delivery on the server (um, Linux is a bit weak here), setup a subnet on one system, and... ooh, I think I have to change my shorts.
Anyway, tomorrow should see me up and flying... or lying in the flaming wreckage of my own stupidity. Either way, it should be a lot of fun! (Did someone just yell "Geek"?)
