I rather think I'm well aware of the fact, Jeff. I'm not quite that naive. Remember Gates had conversations with Obama before he agreed to serve again. He didn't have to go as far as he did in describing what he sees in Obama. The way he framed his answer re: Cheney left no doubt as to his opinion of Cheney's stance on attacking Iran.

I believe more troops will be sent. Had Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld not pulled troops out of Afghanistan to send them to start a war in Iraq, things probably would not have gotten so bad and it wouldn't have put us in such a mess with our economy. As McCain said, never in the history of this country have we had a tax cut while fighting a war, let alone two wars.
