I'm not sure a second stimulus will work. Just as with the first, people didn't rush out to spend it. Instead, they banked it or used it to pay taxes or mortgages.

Looking at statistics--malls in trouble, hotel room vacancies, did we over-build? Did we really need a Walgreen's on every corner? What were they thinking when they allowed the outsourcing of so many jobs? Why did they allow so much of manufacturing to move overseas? To a degree, consumers bear some responsibility in demanding cheaper goods which often resulted in shoddier products. And far too many fell into the easy trap perpetrated by bankd and credit card companies, saying you can have it all--a mega house, two mortgages, two cars, a boat and pay for it sometime in the future.
