Montreal, PQ - A strange thing happened on the way to the Forum tonight. A line was winding around the arena for the first time in weeks. A long line.

The Marauders fans have been fanatically faithful during the tenure of GM Sean Gallagher, but this is the first time he has felt "electricity".

"I'm feeling it too," said Gallagher, "we're home, playing the best team in the league at this point, a geographic rival, and a team that will test us every time. Add to that our recent acquistions and you have a great game on your hands. Everyone in this city is ready to welcome Martin Brodeur home to Montreal."

Tomorrow's Saturday night game will be Brodeur's first as the starting netminder for his hometown team. His fans were numerous.

"Martin iz de best!" exclaimed one.

"Brodeur belongs here," stated another's sign.

On top of that, the fans are burning to see sparkplug Ilya Kovalchuk take the ice wearing the Montreal togs. Rumors are swirling as to the line combinations, as fans fight over whether he should play with Alexei Kovalev or Todd Bertuzzi. Throw Brad Richards and Olli Jokinen, who has been red-hot since coming to Montreal into the mix, and debate is fierce.

"John [Tortorella, Head Coach] has some interesting decisions ahead of him," said Gallagher, "but I think I've given him a lot of good options. I'm still working on more."

The Marauders Team Shop reports that there is a back-order on both Brodeur and Kovalchuk personalized sweaters, but that they are confident that all orders will be fulfilled within 3-4 weeks. They also would like to report that Tkachuk sweaters are now half off regular price.
