Thank you both!!!

Steve, I'm glad to see you posting! AND I'm not ignoring your advice! ;-), you suggested zinc to me before, and I will try it. But, I'm not sure with her, _because_ the drug I'm using could cause (see above), aplastic anemia, and didn't you say zinc binds iron? I'm not at all sure this applies.....but, I'd have to look into it further, to understand.

Animal Sancuary Lady, nice to "see" you! :-) Sugar...I think I've heard of this......wonder what it is about sugar...? Must draw...when it drys...?

She's doing much better, the area is suppocating (sp?), openly, the pain is much less, and the swelling is way down. Like I said, I used the trimethoprim and sulfadiazine, because actually the feed store that was open, was out of Terramycin (Oxytertracycline), at the time. I understand the stance on antibiotics, but I felt her condition indicated it. The swelling, I felt if not checked was in danger of closing her airway....anyway, it's a judgement call. I do my best. :-)

Oh, I figured out dosage after thinking a second, it's density and mass of course. Darn rusty brain. I had to figure the ratio of the larger dosage. A FYI, water is aprox, 1 gram = 1 cc/ml. But this powder was 3 grams = 5 cc/ml. Ended up being 1.75 cc/ml or 1/4 tsp.
